DIY Face Mask

Gosh never thought I would be trying out a DIY face mask.  I recently saw a friend of mine post about a face mask she made using good old school glue and I thought heck I can make that!!  I love DIY recipes but had never tried a mask before, well now I won’t go back.  I may try out other recipes and see what I like best but this one worked and I was so thrilled it also uses my favorite Young Living Essential Oils.

  • Bowl
  • Flat Brush like a concealer or foundation brush or heck a flat pain brush will work too
  • Activated Charcoal Capsules
  • School White Liquid Glue
  • Young Living Frankincense Essential Oil
  • Young Living Manuka Essential Oil

Now to prep your face you want to soften up the plugs within he pores. The easiest ways are to wash your face in a nice hot/warm shower.  If you don’t have time for that just be sure all traces of make-up are removed with a cleanser like Young Living ART Gentle Cleanser or Orange Blossom Facial Wash.

Using your flat brush mix 1 tablespoon of white liquid school glue with 3-4 capsules of activated charcoal in your bowl.  Understand that the capsules can be messy, I had a hard time opening them but it worked.  I just made a bit of a mess, nothing soap and water couldn’t clean up!

Next mix in 3-5 drops of Young Living Frankincense Essential Oil and 1-3 drops of Young Living Manuka Essential Oil.

Once fully mixed using your flat brush apply a thick layer of them mixture all over your face ensuring that you avoid any areas with hair.  It you accidentally get it on any pieces of hair use a warm wash cloth to remove it.  I had some of the mixture left over so you could probably easily do less then 1 tablespoon but you want to be sure you have enough too.

Allow 30-40 minutes to fully dry and then remove by by starting from the bottom and pulling up.  This is thick and it sticks, it is a very strong mask.  Got sensitive skin, it may be a good idea to try on a small section first, its strong.

Follow it up with some a toner like the Young Living ART Refreshing Toner and some Young Living Art Light moisturizer
